BOTOX FAQ’s

Posted on

BOTOX® has quickly become the world’s most popular cosmetic treatment and it is easy to know why- minimal pain and quick healing with near instant results. If you are considering a BOTOX® treatment, read on for answers to frequently asked questions!

1. What is BOTOX® and how does it work?
BOTOX® is a safe and FDA approved treatment used to temporarily reduce the look of lines and wrinkles. BOTOX® is made from a purified botulinum toxin protein that is refined from the bacterium, Clostridium botulinum. BOTOX® is injected in small amounts into troubled areas, temporarily reducing muscle activity in the affected areas. This reduced muscle activity will reduce the look of lines.

2. How long does a treatment take?
Depending on the treatment you are receiving, the typical appointment time is 10-20 minutes.

3. Does BOTOX® hurt?
Some patients find that BOTOX® feels like a pinch while others feel little to no pain from the injection. If you are concerned about pain during the treatment, you can request that your specialist use a topical numbing cream on the area before treatment.

4. How quickly can I see results?
Many find that they start to see results after 24 hours though it will take a week to see full results. You can expect these results to last between 4 and 6 months.

5. Can men receive BOTOX®?
BOTOX® is for everyone! BOTOX® for men is no longer thought of as taboo, as it once was. The percentage of men receiving BOTOX® treatment has increased 337% since the year 2000. Many men look to BOTOX® for many reasons including restoring their youthful look.
